From Ferd Private Equity to Herkules

(Lysaker, 12 March 2008) Ferd Private Equity announces name change and plans to relocate to downtown Oslo.

As a result of its considerable expansion, Ferd Private Equity is changing its name to Herkules and will relocate to offices in central Oslo. Ferd AS and Herkules are two independent investment firms and it is important that they are perceived as such by the outside world.

Ferd Private Equity was established in 2004 and has around 20 Norwegian and international investors, of which Ferd AS is the largest. Ferd AS and Ferd Private Equity have operated independently since the latter’s inception. However, the two have collaborated in a number of areas when deemed appropriate. Ferd Private Equity’s planned relocation and name change will not preclude the two organisations from continuing to work closely in the future in circumstances where this is mutually beneficial.

The new name and new premises are the only two changes to Ferd Private Equity. As Herkules, the organisation and its business will remain unchanged. This includes its investment philosophy and all normal business operations.

“Ferd was the originator and founder and has been a solid contributor to this investment firm – which has provided excellent returns for everyone involved. This has been a success,” states CEO Johan H. Andresen, Ferd AS.

Herkules manages total capital of NOK 6.25 billion, of which Ferd has invested NOK 3.7 billion. Herkules currently consists of two funds, which have invested in small and medium enterprises in the Nordic region, primarily in Norway. In total, Herkules has invested in 33 companies with combined annual revenues of NOK 18.6 billion.
