Norsk Jernbanedrift AS acquires Miljø- og Veiservice AS

(Oslo, 20 June 2011) Norsk Jernbanedrift AS (‘NJD') has entered into an agreement to acquire Miljø- og Veiservice AS (‘MVS'). The acquisition will further strengthen the company's offering within planning, construction, operations, maintenance, and security services for the railway infrastructure in Norway.

MVS has co-operated with NJD on several projects the last years. The company owns train wagons which are used for moving, loading and transportation of gravel/ballast through vacuum absorption technology, and is the only player who has this type of equipment in Norway. MVS was established in 1988 in Skien, Norway, and has currently 12 employees. For 2010 revenues were NOK 26 million.

“Going forward we see substantial growth potential, and at our current size it is important to team up with a professional partner as MVS for further developing the company,” says Ernst Terje Jakobsen, CEO at NJD.
